Calculus Comprehensive Schools won the National Council of Muslim Youths Organisation Qur’an recitation and memorization competition.
A student of the Calculus Comprehensive School, Sharafadeen Muaz, has emerged winner at the second edition of the (NACOMYO) Recitation and Memorisation Competition organized by Muslim Youths, Alimosho Zone, Lagos. The competition came to a close on Sunday 9th October 2022 in Lagos.
The Proprietor of Calculus Schools, Alhaji Kamaldeen Olanrewaju Jaiyeola appreciated the effort of the organizers of the competition adding that it was time and energy-consuming to sustain the program despite some of the challenges faced in the past.
The Principal of Calculus Madrasah said that one of the benefits of Qur’an recitation is that it makes a man at peace with Allah.
He added that “when you recite the Holy Qur’an, it makes you feel and be at peace with Allah and curtails youthful exuberance, as well as enhances general productivity. Engaging our youth in activities like this will prevent them from vices; I implore the organizers to come up with similar programs that will enhance the understanding and application of the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. He said, This is because it is not enough to recite and memorize the Qur’an, we ought to check the understanding of its teachings.
“I, therefore, enjoin all youths to read the Holy Qur’an daily and not wait until the month of Ramadan before reading it and memorizing it.” In his concluding remark, the Principal, Ustadh Abdurasheed Mahmud, encouraged the organizers to ensure better organization of subsequent competitions.
He appreciated the representatives of Calculus Madrasah present at the competition and expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the competition and prayed that Allah protects all the participants as they progress in life.
